“Ready to go home?” he asked her in a chipper mood. They frequently stayed at a hotel when they were fundraising or working. Their home was across town and not always convenient to return to, especially when they had unexpected guests. It was better to fool around in a hotel where the guests couldn’t make as big of a scene if they didn’t like the arrangement when it came time to leave.
She smiled and the twitch began again. She didn’t know why it kept coming back but the look she gave Ken had him smiling like a Cheshire cat as they made their way down to the limo. He was smiling even broader when they got out at their mansion as he zipped himself up and they made their way like newlyweds up to their rooms. They never made it to the master suite, instead they chose the tape room to escape to and Ken, seeing the bite marks, the bruises, and the scratches took his wife roughly, knowing someone else had been there at some point between last night and this morning in the limo. It angered him for some reason, it made him want to do dirty and perverted things to his own wife, things she didn’t allow him to but let some ‘stranger’ do to her. He held her down and raped her repeatedly, covering her mouth with his so her screams could not be heard. She loved the feel of him mastering her, taking her, scratching what had become an insatiable itch, her pleas and requests for him to stop were ignored, her exhortations to continue, her demands for more only angered him.
“Why you little slut,” he said to her but the dirty word only inflamed her overly stimulated senses and she called him names in return angering him more, making him hurt her more.
Slowly Ken’s hands crept to her bruised and bitten neck, he didn’t even realize when he began to squeeze, when her hands on his trying to get him to stop began to slacken, he thrust inside of her, his erection actually hurting him as he caused them both pain, trying to control the bitch he squeezed mercilessly, not realizing when he came that Cecelia was unconscious and her windpipe crushed. He released his hold on her neck as he thrust away into her totally relaxed body, her unconscious body, the body flapping like a ragdoll as he ground and thrust into it in his final throes. He roared like the beast he felt he was as he spurted into the little whore. It was only as the red cleared from his eyes that the little whore he had so enjoyed he realized was his wife. As his erection shrank he realized she wasn’t breathing. Alarmed he shook her, repeatedly calling her name, he began to breathe heavily in his fear.
The door crashed opened and Damion Rivera ran into the room, proving he had watched the whole thing on the cameras. He pushed the Senator away from his wife’s body and began to give her CPR. He pushed on her naked chest but after five minutes and with the Senator trying to help as well they couldn’t revive Cecelia. They looked at each other in consternation.
“What the hell are we going to do?” Ken asked his lifelong friend as he looked at him in fear and dread at what this could mean.
“You’re going to go wash up, I’ll get her dressed and we will call a friend of mine who can take care of this. The Senator died of natural causes unexpectedly and you’re terribly upset got it?” he told Ken forcefully.
Ken nodded dumbly as he left the room looking back at the unnatural pallor on his wife’s face. He closed the door and headed to the bathroom. Damion would take care of it for him, he always did. But his wife! How in the world could this have happened? How would it affect his political career? He wondered if he could play the grieving widow…
Alice watched all of this from the closed circuit video feed she had in her condo. She watched as Ken slowly killed his wife. This wasn’t what she had intended. The poison that Cecelia had ingested from Alice’s perfume was slowly supposed to kill her and so subtly that it was undetectable by most tests that would be done on her body. Now she wondered if there would be a cover up, given what she had heard there probably would be. She wondered at the sexual drive that Ken had exhibited, at the sensual and sinuous way Cecelia had acted, encouraging him to higher highs of depravity, dirty talk, and ultimately his fixation on auto-erotic asphyxiation. She wondered if it was divine intervention that the way he had killed her sister was the way he had killed his own wife. She shook her head, if there was a God and she wasn’t certain whether there was one or not, she hadn’t been kind to Alice, not in this lifetime.
Alice watched over the time as Cecelia was cleaned up, dressed, and lay there while Damion got someone on the phone. The entire conversation recorded by Alice’s wonderful connection and machines. A green light recording the whole scene, alerting to her when the motion sensors had started the tapes in the tape room that there was something to record. She watched as a man, a man she knew came and took the body. Her chair slammed forward at seeing who was the man they used for their dirty work, Alice had cause to use him herself and she had bought his whole routine that he only did this under duress, it was obvious she wasn’t the only one who had been duped as she watched him play his little charade. It actually saddened her to see Cecelia zippered into a body bag. The camera clearly showed the bruises on her body. The camera had clearly captured Ken putting some of them on the body. Alice wondered at the ones she had seen before Ken and Cecelia had gone at their wild moments together. She knew she hadn’t put any of them there and were those bite marks? She zoomed in as she replayed that part of the disk.
When Cecelia’s body was taken away, Damion cleaned up the room and went back into the little room where the cameras and computers were kept and watched the disk of Ken killing his wife. He debated for a moment and then shrugging he made a copy of it before erasing it. Alice watched it from the comfort of her little alcove, by now she had a plate of food so she could enjoy the show. She waited until Damion had finished his copy and she saw the self-satisfied smirk on his face before she pressed a little button she had prepared long ago. The room exploded in a flash of light, destroying the computers, destroying the cameras, destroying the evil man who had helped the Senator’s destroy so many lives. The little fire it started was quickly extinguished by efficient staff that showed up with fire extinguishers. It was too late to save the computers, the cameras, or the evil man who Alice had assured wouldn’t bother anyone ever again.
Alice attended the funeral for Senator Cecelia Edwards. It was well attended and she got there early enough to get a good seat, one that was near the other Senator Edwards but at an angle where she could unobtrusively observe the grieving widower. He had gotten a lot of press coverage from the fact that his wife had died so young. A vital woman in the prime of her life struck down by an unexpected and undetected hole in her young heart. It was tragic news and hearts all over America were mourning with the remaining Senator. The press were having a field day with interviews of all her ‘closest’ friends, her constituents, those adoring voters, her admiring fellow congressmen and women. At one time there was a rumor that the President of the United States would be attending but that rumor had been squashed. Instead the large church in Los Angeles was filled with important people that would look good on camera, which could help the grieving husband become the greatest Senator, who could help their mutual careers at some time or another. Alice was there because she was rich and the Senator knew a ‘good’ friend to his wife.
At the back of the church were the employees who had worked for and with the Senator’s. One was missing though and few of his fellow employees grieved for him. It was put down to a faulty gas leak. That it was on the second floor and away from any gas line in the mansion hadn’t entered the report on the fire that had killed Damion Rivera. No one would grieve for this disreputable man, no one would miss him, except perhaps Senator Ken Edwards who had no one to do the truly dirty work that was necessary in his life, who felt relief not only over his wife’s death but the death of someone who had blackmailed him ever since college.
The service was long and windy and Alice was genuinely tired of it before it was over. She glanced around repeatedly as she ignored what the minister droned on about. All the wonderful things that were said about Cecelia Edwards, all her good works, charitable e
ntities, such a good woman, she was a saint. Alice frequently wondered what all these people would think if they truly knew, if any of them really knew what that woman had been like, what Ken was really like. She wondered how many in the congregation that sat listening to this bullshit had been victims of the Senators or willing participants to their corruption, their greed, their sense of entitlement. Alice wondered too if perhaps a bolt of lightning was going to come down and hit her or any other of the people sitting here listening to the lies about this woman.
As many people made their way past the Senator to express their personal condolences Alice felt the hug she got from Ken Edwards a little too exuberant, a little too knowing, a little too intimate as she felt his erection against her. She was disgusted and none of it showed on her face as she smiled through the false moment between them. She saw the lust in his eyes, she saw the hope too and she squashed it with her own yellow eyes, the look she gave him told him in no uncertain terms that she was a closed door to him, but then perhaps a little blackmail would work…or at least his fevered little mind began to work in that direction. Alice read him like a book and all this took place in moments before she moved on and made room for someone else to express their condolences. She felt Ken’s eyes bore into the back of head as she walked away.
Many was the time that Alice wished she didn’t have a Porsche. It was too much of an eye catcher and there were some times she simply needed to be unnoticed. It also had limited trunk space and things she needed to move required a little more space than she had now. It was with that thought in mind she began to shop for another vehicle. Perhaps a truck but then she realized she didn’t have the style for a truck. She mentally pictured herself wearing a plaid jacket and toothpick in her mouth but the image made her laugh. It was so stereotyped. She was just not a truck kind of gal although she knew some lovely women who drove trucks. She didn’t want a car though; it would still be the same problem with the ‘room’ factor so she settled on an SUV. There were many on the market and Alice did her research as she always did, very carefully and very thoroughly. She decided on one not too expensive because a Range Rover or a Land Rover, a BMW or such would only draw unwanted attention, this was what she was trying to avoid in the purchase of her second vehicle. With the information in hand of several types she wanted to try she went and rented a car. She knew if she showed up for test drives in her Porsche this would create an image she wanted to avoid. It was bad enough when a woman shopped for a car alone how salesmen tried to fool them. Alice came armed with information and frequently had the men cowering, sometimes the women as well.
Alice decided on a Nissan Pathfinder. It was a neutral gray color and had a lot of the amenities she had requested. She liked how it drove, it felt comfortable, and she knew approximately how much it should cost her. The dealer didn’t quite agree but then he had never dealt with someone of Alice’s caliber in negotiating a sale. He was left quivering and glad when she left the lot with her brand new vehicle. On the final inspection she had arrived in a taxi and taken the vehicle home.
Once home she put on surgical gloves and went into her alcove and began pushing buttons on her computers making final disks of all the hours of videotaped footage she had on the senators as well as copies of documents she had accumulated. All of it was conveniently on disks that she did not handle with her bare hands but as each one popped out of the machine she copied them in she put into a hard plastic diskette holder and then into a preaddressed, stamped, and padded envelope that she had printed out. This time she chose not to use her Stamps.com program because she was certain it had an encoding that would lead back to her in some way, instead she had purchased the exact postage from the post office in peel and stick stamps and put these on the envelopes. The work took a few hours and she kept the gloves on the entire time so as to leave no fingerprint on the disks, the holders, the envelopes, or even the stamps. She had stacks of them ready and waiting as she put them in totes and took them to the back of the Pathfinder. Tote after tote filled the back and she was grateful for all the room. The final tote she put on the front seat with her.
She drove her new toy to the nearest postal receptacle and put a few of the envelopes in, stuffing them until the container would take no more. She drove to another she knew of and another before going to the post office late at night and filling theirs. There were camera’s to watch the goings on but she wasn’t doing anything suspicious, she was merely mailing envelopes, a lot of envelopes. The last few wouldn’t fit and she left them in the final tote as she drove around looking for a postal box to throw them in. She found one by the grocery store and left the last of her envelopes in it. Removing the leather gloves she had worn for driving she looked at her hands that were wrinkly from first the surgical gloves and now the leather where her hands had sweated. She wiped her hands on her pants legs and returned home. She knew her revenge against Senator’s Edwards would take a few more days but she was tired and pleased that it was finished, Constance had been revenged, it had been a long time in coming but revenge was a meal best served cold and Alice’s cold heart had served it well.
“Senator Ken Edwards, grieving widow of the late Senator Cecelia Edwards was arrested today in connection with the murder of Constance Weaver as well as the death of…” a list of names came up in regards to suspicious deaths over the years spanning back to the Senator’s college years. Cecelia Edwards body was being exhumed but Alice wasn’t worried, the poison she had ingested from Alice’s perfume would be long gone from the deteriorating body and Ken Edwards would be blamed for her death for the disks that had gone out all over the country to all the television and radio news stations, to the internet news stations, to prominent Congressmen and women as well as Senators. News stations in Canada had also received copies. Alice had been compiling the addresses for months as she researched the news organizations, the politicians, and whatever sources of information she could use to get the information out there. She had stumbled across a few bloggers and found their home addresses as well, their followers had made the hour’s long disk and the information it contained go viral, and there was no way that Senator Ken Edwards would escape justice this time, there was no stopping the internet or the conversation on millions of people’s lips. Alice had made sure of that.
~The End~
MASTERFUL MALICE
Book 5
“You invited me in Kathy, you taunted me into this, now you must pay the price,” his voice haunted her through the telephone lines.
“I did no such thing,” she returned angrily, shrilly, fearfully. “You put that Trojan virus on Kit’s computer, there is no way a child could know that a stupid game would contain something so harmful.”
“All is fair in love in war Kathy, I have all your personal information now, it’s just a matter of time and you will be mine!” he declared triumphantly.
Kathy was afraid, she was genuinely afraid, this man had become her nightmare, she didn’t know what to do anymore, she didn’t know anyone who would or could help her. The police didn’t believe her, she couldn’t afford to hire a private detective, he was a menace, and he had as good as threatened to enslave her.
“Think of what I could offer Kit, the toys, the benefits, and in a few years who knows how grateful she would be,” he taunted.
That was it! She slammed the phone down. It immediately began to ring. She picked it up and slammed it down again and then listening for the dial tone she left it off the hook. She didn’t want it to go to the answering machine; she didn’t want it to be heard by her eight year old daughter, even accidentally. She knew he would keep calling, he would show up eventually, she could run, that’s it! She would run! And then she realized she couldn’t, she had moved once to get away from this awful man, she had hidden them away she thought in this safe little corner of the world but he had found them, he had stalked them, he was convinced they were meant to be together, forever, until death parted them. She shuddered at the thought.
Kathy ha
d dated Eli once, and only once. He had given her the creeps immediately and all her warning signals told her to get away from him. By the end of the meal though he had been charming, informed, and congenial and she had relaxed for a moment. The ride home though he had become nasty, masterful as he put it, and demanding. He felt they had a connection, that she would make a perfect sub to his master. He wanted her to obey him, to come home with him, to do absolutely anything he commanded. He told her in no uncertain terms what he wanted her to do, to strip for him, to make herself available to him and his friends, in any way he commanded, any position, any deviant behavior he demanded. She escaped at a stop light and ran out of the car. She thought herself safe from the pervert but the calls had begun immediately. He had resources she didn’t realize existed. Just from her phone number he got her address, he followed her to work, he followed Kit to school, he compiled information on her until he turned her world upside down. The thought of them being under his thumb, of what he would do to her, of what he would turn Kit into made her frightened, truly frightened.
The police didn’t believe that Eli Watson was capable of this type of behavior. He was a well-respected citizen and when she made her claims it was dismissed as a lover’s quarrel, no one believed her. Someone of his position would certainly not jeopardize it and she was made to feel that she was making claims against this honorable man unjustifiably.
